Gordon

Things were going pretty well for Gordon at one time. He had his own way of life with his wife Maria by his side and was hopeful for the future of his community…until The Saviors came along and took it over.
From there, it was all downhill. The heartbreaking story of Maria’s death made Gordon realize that he didn’t approve of life under Negan’s rule. He decided he didn’t want to live at The Sanctuary anymore and decided to make his exit. Negan discovered Gordon had exited and sent Dwight to find him.
When Dwight found him, he was struggling with a walker. Out of energy and with no reason to live, he gave his case to Dwight to let him go or fight against The Saviors. Afraid to disobey the orders of Negan, Dwight shot Gordon in the back as he was walking away.
Later on, it was revealed that Gordon, now zombified, was added the fence as a reminder by The Saviors that there is no turning your back on their group. By the way Dwight looked at walker Gordon, he represented a lot of sadness in The Sanctuary.
