Xander Berkeley Cast in Upcoming Film ‘Proud Mary’

Walking Dead star Xander Berkeley has been cast in upcoming thriller Proud Mary from Screen Gems. Gregory likely opened up a bottle of Scotch to celebrate.
Xander Berkeley has a brand new role over in tinseltown! According to Deadline, Berkeley has gotten a part in the upcoming Proud Mary, which centers around an assassin who encounters a youngster during a professional hit gone bad… Triggering a classical maternal instinct.
Taraji P. Henson will be playing the film’s lead Mary Goodwin who works for an organized crime family from Boston in the movie.
Also cast is Lethal Weapon star Danny Glover, The Color Purple’s Margaret Avery, Justified’s Neal McDonough, Snatch’s Rade Serbedzija, Sons of Anarchy’s Billy Brown, and AMC’s Feed the Beast star Jahi Di’Allo Winston.

Babak Najafi, who directed 2016’s action packed London Has Fallen will be directing Proud Mary, with a script penned by John Stewart Newman and Christian Swegal.
Fun Fact: The Color Purple’s Margaret Avery is reuniting with the film’s co-star Danny Glover for Proud Mary.
Xander Berkeley’s Many Projects
Despite being a regular on The Walking Dead as the Hilltop’s leader Gregory, Berkeley has kept working just as hard over in Hollywood. Never to get too relaxed in one role, Berkeley has kept the pace with a multitude of film projects.
According to IMDB, Berkeley has 7 current projects (including Proud Mary) outside of The Walking Dead. Four of them are already in post-production and one is complete. The other two, Proud Mary and Ni’ihau (where Berkeley will play Aylmer Robinson) are currently in pre-production.
Berkeley has always been a hard worker in the industry, and fans discover him through an immense resume of work. whether it was 24’s iconic CTU District Director George Mason or currently as Walking Dead’s political leader Gregory, the man always leaves a lasting impression.
