We know Chandler Riggs is excited about The Walking Dead’s season 8, and it looks like executive producer Gale Anne Hurd is excited as well.

With filming set to begin on season 8 of The Walking Dead in late April, the cast and crew is starting to get excited about getting back to work. Season 8 has already been described by Scott M. Gimple as something that will “melt people’s minds and break their televisions.” After Chandler Riggs expressed his excitement about seeing the script for Episode 801, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd jumped in with her own message about the start of filming.

One of the major differences between Riggs and Hurd is the fact that Hurd probably knows a lot more about season 8 than Riggs does at this point, so though Riggs has seen the first script it’s likely that she knows what will happen beyond it. That means she has to be even more careful about who she talks to, which must make conversations with fans, friends and family extremely challenging.

(Having such a big secret like that reminds me of when Kit Harrington, the actor who plays Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, famously used the secret of whether or not Jon Snow was alive or dead to get out of a speeding ticket. That police officer the only one who knew the secret outside of the production staff)

Hurd also Tweeted about making new memories in season 8, which is probably a huge understatement given the enormity of All Out War and what it means for the future direction of the show.

We still have several months before we see the 100th episode of The Walking Dead in October, but it’s nice to know that the cast excited about the script and ready to get back to work.
