The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs graduates high school with a great sendoff from his parents

The Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs got a great tribute from his family as he finishes high school and starts filming season 8.
Most of us would rather not have photographic evidence of our high school years. But most of us aren’t full blown stars by the time high school is over. The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs got a touching tribute from his mom and dad in his high school yearbook.
As he finishes high school and prepares for college and filming season 8 of The Walking Dead Chandler’s parents, like parents around the country, bought a full-page ad in Chandler’s yearbook to commemorate not only his academic achievements but his participation in The Walking Dead too.
As reported by Comicbook the Riggs created a full-page ad for Chandler in his high school yearbook that contains not only family and childhood photos of him but also his photo on the cover of Entertainment Weekly in character as Carl Grimes.
A fan on Twitter shared a photo of the yearbook ad:

The ad is a great summation of Chandler’s duel roles as a normal kid and one of the stars of the biggest shows on television. His parents have managed to find a work/life balance for him that many parents of child stars struggle to find.
The Child Star Curse
The tabloids are filled with stories of former child stars who never quite manage to make the transition from child star to well-adjusted adult. But Riggs’ parents have always tried to shield him from the dangers and temptations that come along with child stardom.
It helps that The Walking Dead is filmed in small town Georgia. And Chandler’s parents have always been protective of him and made sure that he lived as normally as possible while rocketing to fame as Carl Grimes.
In an interview with the Toronto Star Chandler said that while filming The Walking Dead is definitely out of the ordinary he attends public high school, plays video games and hangs out with friends like any other teenager.

He also is planning on going to college while filming The Walking Dead now that he’s finished high school. So it looks like Chandler will be one of the few child stars who manages to avoid the problems that other child stars have faced.
Congratulations to Chandler as he graduates high school. The Walking Dead fans who have watched him grow up playing Carl on screen wish him all the best.
