Fans hoping to play Overkill’s video game based on The Walking Dead will need to be patient, as the title has been delayed until the second half of 2018.

It has been quite a while since Starbreeze and Overkill announced a video game based in the universe of The Walking Dead to give fans a unique and immersive experience in the zombie apocalypse.

Sadly, fans will need to continue to be patient. Once again, the game has been delayed, and this time the difference in time is a significant one, as the estimated release time is during the second half of 2018 as shared by IGN.

Starbreeze had this statement from CEO Bo Andersson Klint included in a recent press release announcing the delay:

More from Undead Walking

"“We, together with the development of OVERKILL’s  The Walking Dead decided to extend the production schedule so that the title will reach their full potential and pursue our original vision a step further. Together with Skybound Entertainment we are fully dedicated to releasing an unforgettable experience for fans throughout world and then continue to support it with high quality content in the coming years.”"

Gamers know this situation all too well. While many fans are itching to try out the game, it is much better for the developers to make sure they release a quality game that fans can enjoy rather than rushing to meet deadlines and release a product that isn’t up to standards.

Thankfully, The Walking Dead doesn’t appear to be losing steam any time soon. If the game from Overkill doesn’t release until late 2018, fans should still be starving for a great game based in the zombie apocalypse that everyone can enjoy.
