5 fan questions about The Walking Dead answered for May 6, 2017

#1. Are TWD plots too repetitive?
Travis Derby on Facebook: “Do you think the walking dead has been doing the same plots for the last few seasons of safehaven, then bad guy ruins it, then they find another safe haven, turns out bad, then finds another safe haven, and worst bad guy so far ruins it yet again?”
This is a challenging question because there are actually many parts to it that need to be explored. While it did seem like the show was falling into a rut with a similar formula, each spot they attempted to settle served a purpose.
If the group had found a settlement and stayed there right away, it would have been too easy. In fact, the survivors needed to discover that not everywhere was safe (or sort of safe) from the walkers and human threat.
Speaking of human threat, it is also a great excuse to showcase different locations, different villains, and different scenarios. However, that kind of problem did run its course, and the repetitive situation did start to irk some fans.
Now that the survivors are in Alexandria, that cycle appears to have come to an end, at least for a significant time while they fight for their home. Thankfully, this will open up all new storylines which can focus more on the characters instead of their need to find a steady place to rest their heads on a regular basis.
