Animals always have a rough time in the world of The Walking Dead. Typically whenever a horse, dog, pig, or other non-human shows up, they don’t stick around too long in the zombie apocalypse.
Sadly, Violet was always marked to be food rather than a pet, but Carl enjoyed having the pig around. At first, Rick didn’t like giving the animals names, but he came around to the idea once Carl showed just how much he enjoyed it.
Violet never got to be dinner for the survivors, since she died of the flu. Her piglets didn’t have a much better fate, as they were sacrificed and thrown to the zombies to help keep the undead away from the humans.
