It’s graduation season, and The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs is happy to announce that he is done with high school forever.

Fighting Walkers on The Walking Dead is nothing compared to taking AP tests, though high school might be easier to navigate than the social strata of Negan’s Sanctuary. Chandler Riggs, the actor who brings Carl Grimes to life, announced on Twitter today that he has completed his final Advanced Placement exam and is done with high school. Forever.

There’s no better feeling than finishing that last exam and slamming the pencil down one last time. For Riggs, this is an especially exciting time because he can get back to work on The Walking Dead’s eighth season without having to worry about class. Sure, he has been balancing work and school since we first met Carl Grimes back in the first season, but now he can focus on work completely.

Until he goes to college, that is.

Earlier this year Riggs talked to fans during an AMA Reddit, during which he mentioned that he was accepted to Auburn but hasn’t made any decisions yet. We still don’t know which college Riggs will attend in the fall, but it’s likely that his work-school balance will continue. For now, there’s no reason to worry about his character being killed off so that Riggs can become a full time student.

It’s not known whether or not Riggs will attend his school’s graduation ceremony, but for now we wish him a hearty congratulations at completing high school!
