Misty Davis on Facebook: “What if any significance was there with Dwight and Sherry’s wedding band being different?”
Dwight and Sherry had a strange relationship. It is hard to know what their love was like before the zombie apocalypse struck and the events involving Negan within The Sanctuary tore the two lovers apart.
As Misty explained in her question on Facebook, the two rings are not identical. This isn’t specifically uncommon in certain circumstances, especially when metal allergies or style preference exists.
But in the event of Sherry and Dwight, it was likely for contract purposes on the show. Having the two bands be different can help to distinguish them as separate people and even draw the viewers’ eyes to how they are not the same.
Whether it was just a coincidence or something AMC planned out, having the two rings be different was a great metaphor for their relationship. Until we know for sure, it’ll just be something fun to point out.
