The Walking Dead: Jeffrey Dean Morgan to drive Indy 500 pace car
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been named the official pace car driver in the 101st Indianapolis 500 race taking place on Sunday, May 28.
The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan is going places, literally. Morgan has been named as the official pace car driver of the 101st Indianapolis 500.
Morgan will be representing The Walking Dead cast and fans by driving the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Pace Car in Sunday’s race. This marks the 14th time a Corvette has been selected as the pace car of the Indy 500. It will be a big change for Morgan, who told Jimmy Fallon that he drives a big truck during an appearance on The Tonight Show. This particular model has a 460-horsepower V8 engine, which would make it perfect for outrunning Walkers.
Morgan is currently in the middle of filming season 8 of The Walking Dead, which will see his character Negan getting ready to go to war against Rick and the other communities. You can imagine that Morgan is the envy of his Walking Dead castmates because driving the pace car is a lot of fun, but you know they’ll all be cheering him on as he makes the loop around the track.
Needless to say, this is a huge honor for Morgan, who will no doubt encounter tons of Walking Dead fans at the race.
