#2. Old Man Carl

Joshua Coffey “I was wondering if we would ever see an old man Carl on the show.”

When it comes to the world of The Walking Dead, there are a lot of great theories out there. Some are out there MUCH farther than the others and may be a lot of wishful thinking on the part of the fans.

One of the most popular theories about the comics and show is that the entire story is just Carl Grimes recounting his adventures as an old man as the sole survivor of the zombie apocalypse, remembering the people along the way.

Seeing Carl as a rugged survivor is something many fan artists have captured over the years as well, with the most notable being M.J. Hiblen’s rendition. I have to admit that seeing that artwork is definitely exciting!

But if an old version of Carl ever does appear on the show or in the comics, it will likely be in the last episode or issue of the show. If the fan theory is correct, he may just be the real main character of the series, which would upset many fans who never got behind Carl as a kid.
