Fear the Walking Dead season 3 premieres June 4. Let’s take a look ahead at what we can expect in this new season.

One of the best things about Fear the Walking Dead is that it shows us what life was like in those early days of the zombie apocalypse. It took a while for society to really grasp what was happening, and then once everything fell apart things started happening all at once. There was no time to reflect; it was a matter of act and react in order to survive. As we approach the third season of Fear the Walking Dead, there’s no more denying that things have fallen apart and there’s no going back. No one is coming to anyone’s rescue, and the only way to survive is to fight to stay alive.

It took a long time for Madison and Travis to understand this new reality, but they are fully on board with the new normal after the events leading up to the season 2 finale.

As we prepare for the season 3 premiere of Fear the Walking Dead, let’s take a look at the official synopsis from AMC:

As Fear the Walking Dead returns for Season 3, the families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent ecotone of the U.S.-Mexico border. International lines done away with following the world’s end, the characters must attempt to rebuild not only society, but family as well. Madison (Kim Dickens) has reconnected with Travis (Cliff Curtis), her apocalyptic partner, but Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) has been fractured by her murder of Andres. Mere miles from his mother, Nick’s (Frank Dillane) first action as a leader saw Luciana (Danay Garcia) ambushed by an American militia-group — the couple escaped death, but Nick no longer feels immortal. Recovering both emotionally and physically, Strand (Colman Domingo) has his sights set on harnessing the new world’s currency, and Ofelia’s (Mercedes Mason) captivity will test her ability to survive and see if she can muster the savagery of her father.

The militia is no doubt going to represent a dilemma for the group. This is their first true encounter with a group that lives outside the normal parameters of the world they once lived in. Back at the resort, everyone was working to survive. The militia doesn’t need more people unless those people are helpful to them. Sounds a bit familiar, doesn’t it?

With all of the players in place, it’s time to start doing more than surviving in this post-apocalyptic world. Will our West Coast survivors be strong enough to survive what’s coming?
