Overall impression of Fear 302

As a whole, this episode started big a fizzled in a big way, leaving a mixed bad for episode 302 titled ‘The New Frontier’.

More from Undead Walking

While it would have been hard to match the intensity and excitement of the season 3 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead, this episode fell quite short in those departments. Instead, this one relies more on the emotional aspects of the apocalypse.

But strange scenes with Strand as well as those with Madison and other inconsistencies made it hard to get completely lost in this episode. Still, it confirms that Madison will be the leader of this group eventually, even if that transformation is taking a while.

The show is left in a better spot than it was in before the episode. The struggle with the characters and the new location offer a lot of intrigue and interest going forward and the future of Luciana will be a great storyline to follow.

So, overall it was good, but not great. But not every episode has to be stellar. Plus, the loss of Travis makes ‘The New Frontier something memorable.
