By Adam Carlson
Everyone is talking about this huge scene from episode 302 of Fear The Walking Dead ‘The New Frontier’ involving some gunfire and a helicopter.
For fans of AMC’s zombie survival drama series, there isn’t much need to explain what scene it is that people can’t stop talking about from the Sunday, June 4, 2017 episodes of Fear The Walking Dead.
In fact, it would have been shocking for AMC to choose anything other than the opening scene from episode 302 titled ‘The New Frontier’ where a helicopter holding Alicia, Travis, Luciana, and others was shot down.
Watch that scene titled ‘We’re Taking Fire’ again right now as shared on the official YouTube channel of AMC:
The scene opens with the pilot of the helicopter speaking with the co-pilot during the flight to the Otto family ranch.
Just then, a shot is heard penetrating the glass and Travis alerts everyone that the helicopter is taking fire. The pilot takes control of the situation. More shots come through and smoke starts to come from the aircraft.

Some intense rocking has Alicia struggling to stay in her seat, but one bullet strikes Travis in the neck. Blood starts squirting out as he grasps the wound, attempting to keep himself alive despite the bleeding.
Just then, a sadness flushes over Travis’ face as he realizes the situation. Without saying a word, he removes his hand from the wound. The pilot asks Travis if he is hit, but he does not reply to the question.
Calmly opening the door while Alicia screams his name, Travis removes his seatbelt and positions himself in front of the door. By now, Alicia has removed her seatbelt to try to help Travis, but sees his wounds and realizes it is too late to help him.
Falling backwards out of the helicopter, Travis plummets to the ground and the show says goodbye to one of its original characters from the very first episode.
