#2. Immunity in the future

It would be great to find some more hope for the future of humanity in the zombie apocalypse. Sadly, it doesn’t look as though that is a topic that will be discussed on any medium in this franchise any time soon.

Honestly, I’m hoping there is no human being that is immune to the disease. That kind of situation was sort of explored on the corny but somewhat entertaining show Z Nation, and it ended up making the storytelling go in directions that just plain aren’t fun.

I don’t think trying to find an end to the walkers coming back should be a focus at all. Instead, looking at the survivors the way they are and seeing them try to fight and overcome the odds should continue to be the focus of the show, comics, and games.

Even if Judith or Baby Hershel are immune, how would the survivors determine this? They would have to wait for one of the kids to die before seeing whether or not they turn. And with how the survivors make sure their loved ones don’t turn, odds are we’d never even get to see it.
