Now that Marvel’s Black Panther teaser trailer has arrived, the TWD Family can finally see Danai Gurira in action as one of Black Panther’s bodyguards.

If there is one thing we’ve learned from Michonne on The Walking Dead, it’s that Danai Gurira can kick some serious butt. It’s no wonder, then, that Gurira is every bit as tough in her role in the upcoming Marvel film Black Panther as she is on the show. While she might not be fighting zombies, she’s kicking butt as T’Challa’s personal bodyguard.

The Walking Dead star can be seen in the first teaser trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther, due in theaters on February 16, 2018. Here’s the official teaser trailer:

Gurira plays Okoye, a member of the elite Dora Milaje. These powerful women are charged with protecting the royal family of Wakanda, an African nation with advanced technology and a powerful metal alloy that his highly sought after. (For comic book fans, it’s the stuff Captain America’s shield is made out of)

Black Panther is a veritable who’s who of Hollywood power players. Chadwick Boseman reprises the role of T’Challa/Black Panther, who debuted during Captain America: Civil War. He’s joined by fellow Civil War alum Florence Kasumba, who plays another member of the Dora Milaje. Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Michael B. Jordan, and Martin Freeman are just a few of the talented cast members bringing Black Panther’s world to life.
