The Good Stuff from Fear 303
The infomercial opening. This was fantastically done. Having the Otto family selling a survival kit is a great way to show a bit of the backstory as well as humanize the people at Broke Jaw Ranch. Plus, ‘TEOTWAWKI’ is just an awesome acronym.
Some friendly folks. While most of the people at the ranch have been hostile toward the Clark family upon their arrival, there are some friendly people. Sure, they are trying to push religion on Alicia, but hey, when everyone hates you, you have to try to fit in wherever you can.
Bonding between Jeremiah and Madison. Even though they butted heads earlier in the episode, it was nice to see the two leaders discussing their pasts as well as trying to learn more about each other. This is what you’d hope the zombie apocalypse would be about.
Reminiscing. Strand and Dante catching up by talking about their good times and discussing what happened to each other before they met up again was great to see. The two of them had a real feel of friendship or at least camaraderie, which naturally works for moving the story forward.
The awesome zombie pile. Throwing someone off a bridge into a pile of walkers only to watch them be devoured is a fantastic way to eliminate enemies. It’s also a great threat to Strand to make him look death in the face, in many meanings of the phrase.
The return of Daniel Salazar! He’s back! It’s nice to see him return to the show! Whether he’s a hallucination or really there, it’s always nice to see him.
