Fear The Walking Dead, TEOTWAWKI: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
23) Luckily, we’re seeing Alicia still have lingering issues with her killing of Andres in the Season Two finale, “North”. I say “Luckily” because of the unusual “Take over” talk Madison was making in the previous episode. It’s nice to see some consistency.
24) Dante tells Strand the man he threw off the dam was a cartel enforcer. This raises a question: What about all of the infected waiting for him at the bottom of the dam? Since they’re clearly in a big pile, it’s safe to assume they were all bound, too, meaning ALL of them were thrown down there. Does Dante mean to say that ALL OF THEM were cartel thugs? Somehow…I don’t think so.
25) Dante accuses Strand of excessive greed. To be honest, this isn’t an unfair assessment: Until the group reached Mexico, what we saw of Strand didn’t really contradict Dante.
26) Dante says Strand stole from Thomas…what does he mean?
27) Jeremiah tells Madison that some at the ranch think the outbreak was predicted in The Book of Revelations. This is similar to Hershel struggling with the idea of “the resurrection of the dead” in The Walking Dead’s “Beside The Dying Fire”.
28) Daniel’s appearance is the first we’ve seen of him since burning down the Abigail hacienda in Season Two’s “Shiva”.
29) Additionally, his “Guardian Angel” quip is a reference to a conversation he and Strand had in another episode that season, “We All Fall Down”. In that conversation, Strand accused Daniel of “hovering over [him] like the the specter of Death”. Daniel replied “Maybe I am? Or maybe I’m your guardian angel“.
30) Madison has no talk of “taking over” in this episode, which only makes her saying it in the previous episode all the more confusing.
