#2. Why does the new group hate the ranch?

So, as we discussed in the last answer, it was a new group of characters who opened fire on the helicopter that was escaping the military base, but we also got an answer as to why they were shooting.

As it turns out, the land that Jeremiah Otto built Broke Jaw Ranch on belonged to the native people of the area, and they have been in conflict for quite a while over who should inhabit the land and rightfully owns it.

The hate got taken to a new level when the new group burned a pile of dead soldiers from the ranch who went on a scavenger mission to find the helicopter and left one to have his brain be eaten by a bird.

They even sent Madison, Troy, and the others back to the ranch on foot, taking their vehicle, guns, and boots to send the message of what they saw that day and give a message to Jeremiah Otto that the land is to be given back to the newly introduced group.
