A new Fear The Walking Dead promo video for the upcoming sixth episode of season 3 shows that animals don’t fare well on Fear The Walking Dead either.
Fear The Walking Dead is heading quickly towards the midseason finale. Sunday’s new episode, “Red Dirt” will be the 6th episode of season 3. A new exclusive promo that was released today by Daily Star shows that life on the ranch isn’t as safe as people might think.
In the short clip Nick, Madison and Jeremiah Otto are out nearthe ranch when they come across an RV belonging to the Trimbols. It looks like Vernon, his wife Kathy and son Mike were leaving the ranch. No sightings of their daughter Gretchen, who befriended Alicia.
Jeremiah, Madison and Nick come up on the Trimbols RV that is in the middle of a road near the ranch. The windshield is riddled with bullet holes. Inside Jeremiah finds Vernon and Kathy who have turned. Around the side of the RV they find Mike, dead.
And behind the RV is a horse trailer where the Trimbols horse is getting eaten alive by walkers. Horses, and animals in general, don’t fare well in The Walking Dead world. So animal lovers who were disturbed at Buttons’ fate in The Walking Dead – be warned that there will be another bloody horse eating scene in Fear The Walking Dead this week.
The Midseason Finale
This season of Fear The Walking Dead is by far the strongest season yet. The tense storylines are all building to a central conflict. That conflict will probably come to a head in the midseason finale. Ultimately it’s going to be the people on Broke Jaw Ranch versus the Native Americans who showed up in last week’s episode.
But there are still a lot of questions and potential side conflicts that need to be addressed. Is Ofelia with the Native Americans? Did she shoot down the helicopter and kill Travis? If so, how is Madison going to react to that? Will Daniel Salazar make it to the ranch? Will he fight for the ranch or join the Native Americans if Ofelia is with them?

There’s also questions about the Clarks’ status on the ranch. Jeremiah obviously is hoping that they will stay and contribute. But Madison and Nick don’t trust Jeremiah. And they definitely don’t trust Troy.
The next few episodes leading up the midseason finale are probably going to be pretty action-packed in the leadup to a big conflict. Based on the quality of Fear The Walking Dead so far this season the midseason finale is going to be quite exciting.
