The interesting stuff from FTWD 306

  1. Native American portrayal. My father is a tribal member, so it was hard hearing Jeremiah Otto talking down about the culture and the people who practice it. I was hoping this wouldn’t be another cowboys vs indians situation, but it appears as though that will be the case. I just wish the new characters weren’t seen as destitute savages.
  2. Protecting family. It’s kind of funny that the people coming to Jeremiah about protecting their family by leaving the ranch are talking to someone who is unable to maintain a relationship with his own family or keep them safe. Hopefully this clicks with Jeremiah in the future.
  3. The double chalupa. We get it, Taco Bell. I swear that this commercial aired at least 5 times during this broadcast. I love that place as much as the next guy, but we don’t need that advertisement that many times…but it must have worked because now I want a double chalupa.
  4. Birth control in the pantry. It’s interesting to see the topic of preventing pregnancy brought up. It’s a subject I’ve tackled before in my weekly fan question pieces and one that is great to see brought up, even if it does make for an awkward mother/daughter conversation.
  5. Troy has a shrink now. Madison may have her daughter sneaking off and Nick bonding with Jeremiah, but her focus on Troy and figuring out why Troy does what he does has become almost an obsession. Hopefully it doesn’t make her lost focus on her own family for too long.
