5 fan questions about The Walking Dead answered for July 8, 2017

#1. Thinning out the herd
Wow. By now this number has to be astronomical. It does sort of depend on the how the question itself is interpreted. As a whole, there have probably been millions of walkers killed in the universe of The Walking Dead, but I believe this question means ones taken out by the characters in the AMC show.
Thankfully, the first five seasons have a range of walker kills already established. Although there is no exact science to it since many walkers are likely killed off-screen. However WebApps has a total through 6 seasons of the show.
They claim that through season 6, 2,276 walkers have been killed on the show, with an average of 27.42 per episode. That number will likely skyrocket when the season 7 walker kills get added in, especially after the stunt with the two cars and the cable pulled off by Rick and Michonne.
If I were to estimate, I’d say close to 3,000 walkers must have been killed on-screen by now heading into season 8. And that is a lot of undead monsters to slay in a TV series!
