#3. Damage control
The first thing to remember when any member of the TWD cast or crew get in any kind of trouble is not to jump to conclusions. There is usually a lot of information out there that needs to be addressed before a proper evaluation can be made.
Past that, it also has to be remembered that these may be celebrities to us, but they are people as well. They have wives, husbands, kids, and others they love who could be caught in the crossfire of messy situations where they are just learning things about their loved ones and have no privacy in the matter.
Next, it is essential to be respectful. People make mistakes in life, and these cast and crew members are not exemptions to that rule. Depending on the issue, these incidents may seem major to fans, but in the scope of things are just being blown out of proportion because they are notable people.
Finally, don’t jump to conclusions. However, if a situation does truly offend you or make you uncomfortable, you have every right as a fan to block them on social media, dislike them and their characters, or avoid them at conventions. But it doesn’t give you a license to be a jerk. Be respectful because this is someone else’s life we’re dealing with and it could be harder on them than we ever imagine.
