Fear the Walking Dead’s two hour midseason finale has arrived. Here’s your complete recap of season 3 episode 7’s “The Unveiling.”

Jake is on his way to meet Walker. He has his map and his supplies. Suddenly he’s aware of someone following him. He ducks behind a bush and aims his gun. It’s Alicia, and she tells him about Walker killing the entire Trimbol family. She says talking to Walker is a bad idea right now. She wants to go with him. He says no, but she won’t hear it. They go over a hill and see the entire territory. It’s massive.

They approach the gates and Walker’s men take their weapons. Jake and Alicia are led through a gas station toward a group of people gathered to watch a bunch of dogs. Walker comes out and says Jake is 200 years too late for peace. He drops a bloody pig head on the ground. ALicia flinches.

Madison finds Nick eating. She tells him that ALicia didn’t come home. Nick says that she’s probably with “Golden Boy.” He tells her to leave them be. Jeremiah comes up and says Jake is AWOL with some gear. He thinks they’re together. Jeremiah says he can’t spare people to look for them, so Nick volunteers to go. Jeremiah suggests that Nick go work with Troy, who is taking on new recruits.

Jake tells Walker that his father will never leave the ranch. Walker says that they have it coming. He’s surprised to hear that the Trimbols died together, but he says that only leaves Otto. Walker says the days of the White Man’s Courts are over. He says they have to vacate their land. Jake wanted a parlay to avoid more loss. Walker won’t bend. He says they can talk more after lunch.

Nick finds Troy doing target practice with his men. Troy asks if he has Madison’s permission to be part of the militia. Nick points out that Travis was killed, and his sister is missing. He needs something to do. He adds that he wants to protect the ranch from the people who killed the Trimbols.

Alicia finds Ofelia at the gas station. She says that it was a long story. Alicia says they almost died looking for her. Walker rescued her. She says they’re good people, but Alicia says that they killed a family two nights before. Ofelia says it’s impossible because she was with him. Jake comes out and says he will stay and Alicia will go back to the ranch. She says she’ll stay because Otto will never listen to her.

Nick starts cutting his hair while Madison watches him. He tells her that he’s willing to fight with the militia, even if that means fighting with Troy. That’s better than losing everything.

Madison sees Ofelia with Jake. Nick joins her. Jake says that Alicia offered to stay with them. Ofelia is their tribute/hostage. Jake swears that Alicia is safe and he cares about her. Jake goes to find his father. Madison demands to know if Ofelia knows who she was with.

Walker tells Alicia they call themselves Pony Warriors. Some of them were in the military. He shows her the helicopter and she says she was on it. She tells him that Travis was on the chopper, too. Walker killed him. His expression changes and he says that it’s good that she hates him so maybe she can understand how he feels about the Otto family. She calls him a hypocrite.

Jake tells Otto that they need water. That’s what is causing this. Jake offered the bottle reserves to Walker. It’s share or go to war. Otto thinks Walker will want everything eventually. Madison rushes in and demands to know what will happen to Alicia. Jake leaves, and Otto confides to Madison that no matter that Jake does, the parlay won’t work.

Walker takes Alicia into a trailer. Inside are paper mache skulls for tourists. He pulls down a chest and shows her bones. His great-grandfather. He was buried, but Walker pulled his bones to save them from the Ottos who tried to take the land. He hands the skull to Alicia. She tells him that she was thinking about the afterlife not making sense because of how hard this life it. He says there is a plan that was in place before things fell apart. He says “apocalypse” means “the unveiling.” The land will be shed of the “impure” people. Alicia says it would include the Ottos, and people like her. His prophecy includes First Humans.

Troy tells Madison that Ofelia must be stupid to fight with Walker. Madison explains that her life fell apart so she can see Walker’s appeal. Madison tries to reason with Troy to go on a mission to rescue Alicia. Her, Troy, Nick, and a few guys. Troy says Jake is calling the shots but she challenges him.

Ofelia is in the supply room and Otto confronts her. He says that he wants to chat. He says it’s good she isn’t dead, that Walker found her. He tells her he has been thinking about ghosts and the way things were. It sounds like he knows her. He wants the arrangement to work for everyone. He’s going to send some food down.

Alicia is out feeding the pigs when Troy grabs her. He is there to rescue her, and they end up killing the guy with her. Nick and Madison are up on the hill and they realize the group won’t make it. Gunfire breaks out and they barely escape.

When they get back to the ranch Jake runs out and says they just declared war on the nation. Alicia is furious that her mom made the idea to go in. Jake says he had a negotiation going, and Madison says it would have fallen apart. People died and that would change things.

The next day Troy finds Jake loading the truck with water. Otto is drunk. Jake wants to know how Madison made him go after her. Troy says that if Jake leaves he won’t come back.

Ofelia tells Alicia to come with her. She apologizes for leaving her at the hotel, but she says she shouldn’t stay at the ranch. She can’t explain why, but it would be better for her to go back to Walker.

When Jake pulls up at the roadside cafe, he is beaten up ad Walker prepares to take Jake’s scalp, making the first cut. Ofelia intervenes and stops him. Walker tells Jake to tell Otto he’ll finish the job the next time they see him, and he’ll kill Troy and feed him to the hogs. Then they’ll burn Otto alive. “Safe travels,” he tells him.

A motorcycle rides up and drops Ofelia off. She has been beaten up and they tossed her because they think she gave information to the Ottos. Jeremiah sends her to the infirmary, then he asks what Jake, Madison and Troy think. Otto puts Madison in charge of watching over Ofelia.

Madison tells Ofelia she can stay with her and Alicia. Madison doesn’t seem very open to hearing what Ofelia has to say, and it sounds like she’s dealing with some guilt.

Troy talks to his men. Nick wants to know what happens if Walker attacks while they’re on the perimeter. They have a system in place for attacks, but Troy says Nick won’t be on the perimeter.

Alicia wants to know if what Walker did was worse than anything they have seen or done while at the ranch. She asks how Madison knows it was Walker who killed the Trimbols. Madison stays silent.

That night, the militia scouts the perimeter. They don’t like this. Joe starts to get sick. He throws up, and while they’re helping him they come under attack.

Alicia wakes up, as do Madison and Ofelia. They hear their screams.
