The bad things from FTWD 308
Opening with a flashback. When the well-being of a major character is hanging in the balance, the last thing people want to see is something not relating to that character. That’s especially true when the scene chosen to be played instead is a flashback showing what has already been revealed in dialogue.
Ofelia poisoning the coffee. While it was not a very human thing to do, it was naive to think that the people of the Black Hat Reservation didn’t have a backup plan for if their deal went bad. It was quite costly for the community for them to go back on the parlay, since many valuable people died because of it.
Stealing more from the Red Hat. The people from the ranch stole the land, killed people from the tribe, and then stole their important private mementos. Jeremiah may think of them as useless trinkets, but he just doesn’t understand their importance to the people of the reservation.
Too little, too late. Madison opening up to her kids about her mother’s past is far too little, far too late. The fact it took a situation like this to have her open up just proves how disconnected she is with her children and how she will always redirect conversations to avoid major issues.
Jeremiah boarding windows, but not locking the door. Whatever he’s trying to keep out, he’s absolutely screwed if they just walk right in the front door. Then again, he’s probably too drunk to even know what is going on in the first place.
