Jeremiah Otto asks Jake to show his End of the World videos to Madison so she can understand what they’re all about at Broke Jaw Ranch. In the process of watching the videos, Madison sees an outtake where Otto gets into an argument with his inebriated wife Tracey.

Madison knows all too well what it’s like to be in a relationship with an alcoholic, and though she might not want to admit it, she knows what the impact of that kind of relationship can have on her kids. While Alicia has grown up to be a good person, Nick has had a troubled past and is following in his father’s footsteps.

Based on what she can see in the videos, it looks like Otto is had the same issues with his wife, and later he admits to her that he retreated into the bottle to escape the pain her was going through.

As Madison starts taking on a maternal role for Troy, she also protects Troy’s secrets when she discovers that he killed the Trimbols. This was a turning point for her relationship with Jeremiah Otto because now she also bears the burden of Troy’s dangerous secrets.
