Fear the Walking Dead: 5 relationships at Broke Jaw Ranch
Madison and Troy
Madison and Troy have a complicated relationship. Troy needs a maternal figure, but he doesn’t like being told what to do. Why is it, then that at almost every turn Troy has been willing to fall in line with Madison’s requests?
Troy is a volatile individual, but Madison has had a lot of experience with volatile youth. Her own son was a mess before civilization ended, and as a high school guidance counselor in Los Angeles she saw some of the most troubled kids at her school. She knows that Troy is disturbed, but in her mind he’s also very valuable. He knows how to fight and so long as you follow the system, he will have your back. In that way, he’s someone you want on your side.
Interestingly enough, Troy himself is conflicted about his relationship with Madison. He respects her, but he also wants to look strong for his team. So when she starts to overstep her place, he goes as far as to put a knife to her throat. When she doesn’t flinch, he decides that he can trust her and he backs down. He likes that Madison asks him what to do, and he likes that she follows his orders in front of his men.
Though it looks like Madison is Team Troy, she’s always going to be Team Clark Family, so if Troy does anything to cross the family line, she won’t hesitate to take him out.
