Fear The Walking Dead, Red Dirt: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
11) Jeremiah slapping Troy is a shadow of his days as an alcoholic, those days first being seen in his video in “TEOTWAWKI”. Incidentally, this is foreshadowing his eventual return to the bottle later in the episode.
12) As we return from a commercial, Madison ask Troy if he’s looking for something to shoot his dad before remarking that she’s been there. We first learned of Madison’s troubles with her dad when trying to talk to Chris after he punched Travis in the Season Two premiere, “Monster”.
13) Troy says that he sees Mike as being “dead to him” because he left. This explains why Troy said to Nick it was good he didn’t leave to follow Luciana in the storeroom scene.
14) Troy comments that the world outside is burned. Is he being literal? Because, if not, boy, is that an ironic thing to say…
15) Jeremiah says that Vernon is “dead to him”. Clearly, this is where Troy picked up that mentality from.
