Production on season 8 of The Walking Dead was shut down last week after a tragic on set accident. But production has resumed as of today and season 8 filming is moving forward.
The cast and crew of The Walking Dead are getting back to work after the tragic accident last week that caused the death of John Bernecker. Bernecker was an accomplished stuntman who was killed when a stunt went wrong.
Production shut down indefinitely leaving the premiere date and the cast’s involvement in San Diego Comic Con this weekend in question. But, according to Comicbook, production has resumed and season 8 is moving forward.
Pollyanna McIntosh, who plays Scavenger leader Jadis, posted a tribute to Bernecker on her Instagram on Sunday night and revealed that production on the show was set to resume today.
This is an important week for the cast of The Walking Dead. Many of them, along with showrunner Scott Gimple, Executive Producer Gale Ann Hurd and director and special effects master Greg Nicotero will be heading to San Diego Comic Con at the end of the week.

The Walking Dead Season 8 Trailer
Last week’s tragic loss of Bernecker threw into question whether or not The Walking Dead cast would participate in the annual panel at Comic Con. But so far it appears that the cast will appear as scheduled. The highly anticipated season 8 trailer should also be debuted at Comic Con as usual.
The Walking Dead season 8 premiere will also be the 100th episode of the show. It also will kick off one of the most popular storylines of The Walking Dead comic, All Out War. With so many major eventsconverging for the show in season 8 the trailer should be intense.
Usually the trailer for the new season includes hints and Easter eggs for the overall storyline. But because the season 8 premiere episode is also a major milestone for the show the trailer may focus just on that first episode.
Fans will find out soon what will be included in season 8 trailer. In just 4 days everyone should be getting a glimpse into what’s coming when All Out War kicks off in October.

A Tribute To Bernecker
Even though production has resumed John Bernercker and his loved ones are very much on the minds of The Walking Dead cast, crew and fans. Sunday night a candlelight vigil was held in Senoia to honor his contributions to entertainment and to The Walking Dead. All of us at Undead Walking as well as fans around the globe will continue to keep John and his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.
