9. Oceanside Will Join Rick’s Army

The Alexandrians got off to a rocky start with Oceanside. When Tara led them to Oceanside, breaking her promise, they didn’t make the best first impression. But after some of Rick’s signature negotiating they had most of the Oceansiders ready to join up. There were some holdouts though, so the group gave up their guns for Rick and the others but wouldn’t fight.

But it’s just a matter of time until the people who see the need to fight convince the others that they have to join Rick and the other communities. It’s pretty clear that at some point The Saviors will find Oceanside. And when they do the women and children of Oceanside will be in the same position they were in previously when all their men and boys were killed.

When dealing with a person like Negan eventually the only way out is to fight. Because no matter how much the communities produce or how much they give The Saviors eventually it’s not going to be enough. Eventually, they will have to fight. So it’s much better for them to join forces with the other groups and choose when to fight. Otherwise they will be sitting around just waiting to be found and waiting for Negan to control them.

After seeing that The Kingdom and The Hilltop are standing with Rick Oceanside will send fighters into Rick’s army. They just need to be sure that Rick’s army can actually defeat The Saviors before they commit. Now that Rick and the other communities have driven Negan out of Alexandria it shows that they have what it takes to fight Negan and The Saviors.
