4. The Scavengers Will Betray Negan

The Scavengers made it clear when they double crossed Rick that all they care about is what they’re going to get out of a particular situation. So, when it looks like Negan and The Saviors aren’t going to come out on top in All Out War it would make sense for them to turn on Negan.

Jadis will probably try to make a deal with Rick so that The Scavengers don’t end up with nothing. That won’t work, of course, because loyalty is everything to Rick. So at best The Scavengers will scurry back to their trash heap with their lives.

At worst they will end up taking some pretty heavy casualties fighting in the ranks with The Saviors. Hopefully Jadis was smart enough to get at least some of their payment up front. If not, there won’t be a lot of Scavengers left to share whatever treasures Negan has promised them. The foot soldiers always die first in any army. Negan values his Saviors and will most likely put The Scavengers up first when the real fighting starts to try to protect The Saviors.

Jadis, Tamiel and the other Scavengers are fierce fighters. But they’re fighting for reward, not fighting out of loyalty. Since they are essentially a mercenary force they will try to jump to whatever side they think has an advantage. Negan shouldn’t count on their loyalty, just like Rick shouldn’t have counted on them.
