Why I’m excited for AMC’s Walking Dead subscription box
I’m really excited about AMC’s subscription box service for The Walking Dead fans. As a subscriber to many boxes, I think it’s a great idea.
When services like Loot Crate and Nerd Block started, I was one of many skeptical fans who wondered why on earth you’d want to pay to have a bunch of random stuff shipped to your house on a monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly basis. Then I signed up, and I was hooked. Now that AMC is launching its own The Walking Dead subscription box, I thought I might tell you why I enjoy them so much and why you might enjoy them, too.
I’m a proud Loot Crate, Nerd Block, and Disney Tsum Tsum subscriber, and I love all of them. The best part of subscription boxes is that you end up with things you may never have seen in stores, or would never have purchased on your own, but that you end up loving. There’s also the thrill of waiting to see what you get each month. It’s like having a birthday every month.
For fans of The Walking Dead, a quarterly subscription box is a great thing because AMC is curating the boxes, which means you’ll likely end up with some high-quality and very exclusive swag that isn’t sold in stores. (You’ll see individual items on eBay for two to three times the cost of your entire box) You’ll be able to wear your exclusive shirt knowing that you’re one of a special group that has them. Your shirt will attract envious looks when you attend Walker Stalker Con with fellow members of The Walking Dead family.
I’m personally excited about the AMC boxes because they’ll be an opportunity to score some sweet gear without having to travel to a convention, and I’ll know that I’ll love anything that comes in my box because it’s completely dedicated to The Walking Dead. If you’re looking to start a collection of TWD items but don’t know where to start, this is a great way to see what collectibles you enjoy the most.
