Victor Strand lost just about everything leading up to season 3 finale, but what can he learn about himself going forward on AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead.

As one of the most unusual characters in the world of Fear The Walking Dead, the intelligent and scheming Victor Strand has used his charisma and charm to endear himself to fans of the popular AMC zombie drama.

Introduced in season 1, Strand was always making deals. Whether it was trading jewelry or manipulating others to do his dirty work, it was always difficult to see what existed underneath the tough exterior of the character.

Thankfully, all that armor has been torn away through the first half of season 3. Through interactions with the people at the dam and Daniel Salazar, he has realized that he won’t be able to make his way through the zombie apocalypse using charm, lies, and manipulation as he did prior to the outbreak.

This all culminated in a moment when Victor found the yacht Abigail and boarded in the season 3 finale. Both physically and metaphorically, he burned that past to ashes and fans can’t be sure what will emerge from the remains.

It’s not sure what pushed him to this limit. Perhaps it was when Daniel left him for dead at the Rosarito Hotel after being manipulated about his daughter’s well being that was the final nail in the protective barrier of Strand. Of course, looking death right in the eyes and knowing you mean that little to someone can be a game changer for anyone.

So, the big question is what this means for Strand going forward. Where will he go? Is he actually welcome anywhere? And will he be anywhere near the same man the other characters interacted with in the past?

Actually learning who Strand is will be one of the highlights of the second half of season 3. While we may not learn about what life was like for him before the outbreak, but with nothing to hide behind anymore, he should start to fall into the role of being a team player, which is something he never did before.

Of course, there is also a chance that he could just be an expendable character now that he will likely no longer be the charismatic con man he once was, but with so much to learn about this interesting character, killing him off at this point would be a huge waste of story, even though it would provide another big moment in season 3.
