You can help George A. Romero get a star on the Walk of Fame

Fans of The Walking Dead can help a pioneer in the genre get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by donating to assist in George A. Romero’s funding.
Fans of The Walking Dead are well aware that without the hard work and amazing career of George A. Romero that Robert Kirkman would never have been inspired to create his zombie-themed comic book series.
Of course, that comic has spawned multiple successful parts of the franchise, including two hit AMC shows, several video game franchises, numerous toy lines, board games, trading cards, and much, much more.
But, before any of this ever happened, Romeo was taking horror audiences by storm and creating social commentaries with his movies showcasing zombies starting with 1968’s massive genre-inspiring classic Night of the Living Dead.
The franchise grew, launching multiple sequels and creating a massive audience for the undead which led to a resurgence of movies in the genre. His inspiration is not only a massive feather in the cap for the zombie genre, but also horror in general and films including social commentary as an undertone.
Sadly, George A. Romero passed away on July 16, 2017 at the age of 77. He was granted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but now help is needed in order to realize the legendary writer, director, and producer.
Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Cat People) has launched an INDIEGOGO campaign to help fund the star, as explained in this video from the YouTube channel of Matt O’Neill:
Entertainment Weekly transcribed a piece of the video, where McDowell reached out to people for help realizing the star.
"“George was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” explains McDowell in the clip. “Unfortunately, he passed. We really need your help in funding this, because it’s very expensive to do it, and he was such a fine, fine man, a beautiful man, great friend of mine, and also a great artist, and very deserving to be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — in fact, long overdue.”"
