#5. Not today, not tomorrow…

Mark Shepherd “this is a comics question….you think Kirkman is going to kill Negan? can he kill Negan? i mean, i thought Andrea was unkillable…such an important character, and yet, the “we don’t die”, that she and rick would always say, didn’t hold. what do you say? is the anti hero going to outlive rick?”

There is a lot of debate as to which characters are ‘untouchables’ in the comic series. While the TV show has several like Rick, Daryl, Carl, and Michonne who be around a LOT longer, the comics are a place where just about anything goes.

More from Undead Walking

Fans got a taste of that when Andrea, one of the most essential characters in the comics, met her doom from a walker bite during The Whisperers invasion of Alexandria. Now, it seems like nobody is safe, not even Rick Grimes.

Yes, this means Negan is able to be killed. And if it were to happen, I could see a situation where Negan gets frustrated with being followed by Dante, killing him and leaving Maggie to finally finish off the former leader of The Saviors.

But whenever a villain is killed off, a new one must rise to power. Negan can become expendable if The Princess or the group in Ohio turns out to be some of the most terrifying people we’ve ever met in the comics.

While it’s unlikely we see the end of Negan any time soon in the comics, he will be on the chopping block one day. And that could be sooner rather than later if the story takes a swerve in Ohio.
