2) They’re constantly undermining or second-guessing you.

To be honest, as I said last week, a leader who wants unquestioned loyalty, is a bad thing. You should question your leaders when they make universally bad decisions or decisions that don’t seem to serve any real purpose.

However, if someone is constantly questioning a good leader when they make good decisions, you may have a problem on your hands.

You see, this is probably indicative of someone who’s gunning for the leadership role in your group. A change of leadership isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, if someone is making a play to unseat a good leader, it probably isn’t a good thing.

Chances are, the would-be usurper doesn’t want the role because they believe the current leader is incompetent. No, it’s far more likely that want it just because they want it!

It is equally possible that this person wants the leader’s role because of some personal grudge the two have. Whatever the case may be, they’re jeopardizing the safety of the group either for their own lust for power or because of some petty beef.

Worse still, even if they don’t usurp the leader, their efforts only serve to sow dissent, distrust, and confusion amongst the group. This is more likely to cause the group to splinter unnecessarily and bring on much more danger, despair, and even death than the group might have otherwise dealt with had things been copacetic.

If this is happening, the group needs to put a stop to that nonsense, quickly.

I don’t mean becoming drones for an incompetent clown who just happens to be leader, but, if your group’s leader is good at that role, and you trust their judgment? You need to do what you can to let the usurper know that they will not have the group’s support for any coup attempts they might make.
