3. Broke Jaw Ranch Will Fall

The ranch’s days are numbered. There’s just too many forces converging on it for it to last. Despite Madison’s efforts and the efforts of the Otto brothers to keep the ranch under control it’s going to implode. Jeremiah Otto was a bigoted old unstable racist, but he knew how to talk to the like-minded residents of the ranch and he knew what they were expecting from the ranch. The residents who signed up to live there won’t easily accept the leadership of either Troy or Jake. And they definitely won’t accept Madison’s leadership.

The arrival of Walker’s group and the instability of the leadership at the ranch will cause the people who are living there to either leave or rebel against the Ottos and the Clarks. If they try to leave they will have to face Troy’s psychotic wrath. If they stay they will have to accept a leader they don’t respect. They will also need to accept that Walker and his group are now permanent residents of the ranch. That won’t go over well.

So the ranch is doomed. The only question is when it will finally completely break down into chaos. And who will be left standing when the chaos is over. Maybe the Clarks and Ottos will stay and fight to build some kind of society on the ranch land. But they also might leave to find a place that is better equipped and not so dangerous.
