New Fear The Walking Dead preview shows tensions rising at the ranch

EW released an exclusive first look at Fear The Walking Dead season 3B. And it looks like Fear will continue the relentless intensity that it managed to capture during the first half of the season.
Season 3 is regarded by fans and critics to be the best season yet of the show. Fear The Walking Dead is now firmly establishing itself as a stand alone entity within The Walking Dead universe. And judging by the video released by EW the show is going for broke when it comes to getting into the dirty politics of staying safe within the post-apocalypse world.
Showrunner Dave Ericksen says that conflicts are going to be heating up within the ranch and outside of it. Walker’s group of followers, The Nation, is moving onto the ranch after the truce he made with Madison. But the ranch’s residents are anything but ok with it.
On the surface it looks like Jake Otto is taking over leadership of the ranch. But behind the scenes Jake and Troy are at odds over who should lead the ranch. Alicia is firmly behind Jake. Madison is backing Troy. And Madison is also going to try some power plays of her own.
The people of the ranch don’t trust Madison. They also don’t trust Walker. Tensions between The Nation and the ranchers are quickly going to come to a head leading to some serious infighting.

Fractured Families Put The Ranch In Serious Danger
According to the video Madison’s attempts to keep her family safe are going to cause a serious split with her kids. In the video Alicia calls out Madison for dealing with Walker behind Jake’s back and accuses her of lying when Madison denies it.
It seems as if Madison and Nick will have an understanding between themselves that leaves Alicia on her own. As she becomes more of a leader there’s the potential for a serious face off between Alicia and Madison.
The Clarks and the Ottos are the families in charge, but with so much mistrust and fighting amongst themselves that dysfunction is bound to spill over into the general population of the ranch. When water runs low and supplies are running out the tenuous tolerance between the ranchers and The Nations is bound to end in violence and death on both sides.
Strand Comes Back Into The Fold
At one point in the video there is a short segment of Strand talking to Walker. So does this mean Strand ends up at the ranch? Possibly. But it’s also possible that Madison and Walker together go to the dam in search of water and find Strand there. There’s so much tension between The Nation and the ranchers that it would make sense for both Madison and Walker to go to the dam together. But at least know it’s certain that Strand will enter the main story at some point.

Fear The Walking Dead Mid-Season Premiere
This new look at Fear The Walking Dead season 3B shows that the second half of season 3 is definitely going to be as riveting as the first season was. Fear has officially found its footing. Fear The Walking Dead returns on Sunday, September 10th.
