The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: Fight your demons
By Liam O'Leary
5) You’re angry all the time.
This goes hand-in-hand with the previous entry. Watching loved ones die, not knowing what happened to others, constantly being at death’s door, all of that can make a person a teensy bit angry.
But, you can’t let that take you over. I could probably write a couple of pages on why but, I’ll let Michonne say it for me: “Anger makes you stupid. And stupid gets you killed.”
And, honestly, I shouldn’t have to explain to you how you can tell whether you’re suffering from this or not. Everyone should know when their rage is out of control. People know when their anger is beyond normal.
So, with that in mind, I’d rather focus on dealing with that anger.
Now, obviously, the ability to conquer your anger is dependent on the source of the anger in the first place. It could be something that predates the apocalypse, it could be because of losing loved ones, it could be because of hostiles, it could just be the situation.
Sometimes, in the case of a death, let’s say, it may just be time that’s the solution. In other cases, like, dealing with hostiles, it may require the leader or key belligerents amongst them being vanquished.
The fact remains, you can’t just let anger stew, it won’t help. You need to find some constructive way of letting out, or else, it will lead you to do something stupid that you can’t undo.
