The Walking Dead and Mountain Dew partner for Augmented Reality App

AMC and Mountain Dew have announced a Walking Dead partnership today with an augmented reality app and a line of limited edition soft drinks! The Walking Dead Encounter is available on IOS and Android.
The Walking Dead Encounter is the key jewel in this AMC/Mountain Dew pairing. Available on IOS and Android, for the first time, fans will be able to merge real life and The Walking Dead together. Here’s how this baby works folks! First, you go out and collect legendary walkers from the show (up to 20 available) by scanning Mountain Dew Walking Dead-branded product and of course, by tuning in to new episodes of the series… And catching a Mountain Dew commercial. Gotta catch-em all!
Season 8 returns on October 22nd to AMC and they’ve promised new iconic walkers to unlock starting with the 1000th episode. Collectors should be on the lookout for specially themed Mountain Dew items to add to their Rick Grimes shrine.

Extra emphasis on early if you’re planning to complete a full walker collection. Your competition is outside setting up tents next to their local supermarkets already. You can never be too early after all.
