19) Nick steals Hector’s Morphine Drip
Every new day is another chance to turn it all around or an enticing trap to go back to routine. There’s no easier sell than comfortability. Good odds, on most days, routine will win. In Nick Clark’s case on Fear the Walking Dead, an addict is unable to cover his spots for long. In recovery and without his medicine, Nick notices a dying man, Hector Ramirez, in Season 1. What steps the man apart? He’s connected with an IV morphine drip. When the man’s wife Cynthia Ramirez and Chris’ mother turned post-apocalypse nurse Liza Ortiz vacate the room, Nick sneaks in.
Nick literally steals the man’s Morphine drip in what appeared to be a pinnacle character moment. Needless to say, if you’ve been following the show into Season 3, Nick’s come a long way from rummaging through his neighbor’s house to score drugs. Definitely, 1000 miles removed from stealing a dying man’s Morphine drip.
Hopefully, a relapse isn’t one bad day away from occurring for Nick. There was a time when he’d only claim to be clean to settle conversations. Nick, seems to have cleaned up his act, and constantly puts others’ needs in front of his own as of late. Luciana, might have been the driving factor behind the drastic character change.
