1) In the beginning of the episode, Alicia stops Jake to (Unwittingly) tell him her mother’s lie (Blaming Black Hat for killing the Trimbols to cover for Troy) in the previous episode, “Red Dirt”. Could Madison’s lie end up coming back to bite her (And the ranch) in the second half of the season?

2) Once again, the usual siren sound effect is replaced. This time, with ominous music.

3) Madison trying to talk Nick out of joining the militia is reminiscent of her stopping Nick from going to make the trade for Travis and Alicia with Connor in Season Two’s “Captive”.

4) Jake mentions a police investigation which riles Walker. Suddenly, Jeremiah’s “blood in the earth” ramblings in “Red Dirt” start making more sense.

5) Ofelia’s appearance at the rest stop is her first since we saw her meet Jeremiah in Season Two’s “Wrath”.

6) It’s odd to hear Nick blame himself for Travis’s death. Where is he getting that idea from? Or…is this just an attempt to trick Troy?
