The drama continues on Fear the Walking Dead episode 310 as Troy returns and the search for water intensifies. Here’s your recap of “The Diviners.”

Nick is baking in his prison box when the sound of the Infected grows near. It’s Troy, though. He says the hard part getting back wasn’t the walk but the nothingness. Troy wants to know if Otto was Nick’s first kill. Nick says he killed him to save them all. To save Troy. Troy shuts the window and Nick asks him to open it. Troy asks for the password. He opens the door and looks at Nick, offering his hand. As it turns out, it’s an hallucination.

Madison and Walker look out over the dried up pond and she says Jeremiah knew it was happening. Walker knows that there is a supply nearby. Later, they tell Jake and Alicia that they are imposing rationing at the ranch while they go to look for supplies. Walker says that he will leave guns with his men. Jake rides off on a dirt bike, and Alicia says that she’ll watch Nick for her. But she knows there’s more to what’s happening. Madison admits that they have six weeks worth of water left and things could go bad quickly. She knows she puts a lot on Alicia and she hugs her, giving her a radio and telling her that she’s the strong one.

Madison offers water to Nick. She says he’ll be out soon but she has to leave for a few days. He’s in a stupor and she tries to reach into touch him. She says she loves him.

Walker has the truck ready and together he and Madison drive off in search of water and supplies.

One of Walker’s men releases Nick, who falls on the ground. He is given water. Alicia rushes up and grabs her brother, taking him back to the big house. The bullet holes are still in the walls. Nick drinks more water and she tells him it’s all the water he’ll get because of rations. She tells him that Madison and Walker went off in search of water.

Jake has to answer to the townspeople about water rations. They need more water for their horses, cattle. Alicia jumps in when people start getting on him and says he lost everything to protect them, so if they don’t like it they can leave. They hear her message and agree to abide by the terms. Jake, looking relieved, shakes hands on it.

Alicia radios her mom and tells her people aren’t happy about the rations but things are ok. Madison says they haven’t found anything yet but they will turn around the next day and Alicia says not to worry. Keep going. Later, Walker notes that Madison is standing in front of her kids, and she probably apologizes to them, too. She asks if he has children, and he says he has three dogs. One of his dogs was killed by the older dog, and he bit him when he was trying to break up their fight. Madison asks if there’s a big revelation coming in the story, missing the point entirely.

Nick hears a noise and goes out to find members of the militia in the house. He wants to know what they want and they say thank you for what he did with Troy. What he did at the house means a lot. Cooper says the militia isn’t dead just because Troy is gone. They’re ready to fight. Nick backpedals, saying they don’t have guns and he suggests they keep a low profile. They offer him the last gun on the ranch and say he deserves it more than anyone. They want to talk again in the morning.

Ofelia is at the well waiting for water and she sees how low it is. A little girl comes up and she offers her a glass of water but the girl’s mom tosses it away. One of the men tells Nick that people are coming through the water line twice and they’ll have to do something.

Madison and Walker come upon a group of people killing Infected. Madison suggests that they keep going and they arrive at a stadium in Mexicali. It is heavily guarded. At the gate, Madison has to part with her radio to buy entrance. It’s a regular festival inside, with music and a thriving marketplace. And guard everywhere. A man is auctioning a motorcycle while another man is getting a tattoo.

Alicia goes to see Ofelia. There’s a guard at her door. Alicia says that people from the Nation were going through twice, but Ofelia says that things were fine because she oversaw the operation herself. The guard says they all probably look the same to Alicia. It’s a heated conversation and clearly Alicia can’t win.

The newly reformed militia meets and they think they’re going to be slaughtered. Nick holds them off, reminding them that they need their guns and they shouldn’t act without provocation. Later he goes to Alicia’s room and she says that his gun is a problem. She thinks he likes the power he has been given. She also reveals that when she heard Madison call Jeremiah’s death a suicide she knew Nick did it. She didn’t like that she wasn’t a part of it, but she also enjoys not bearing the burden of being Madison’s favorite. Alicia is worried for what it is doing to Nick.

When Alicia tries to call Madison she doesn’t get a response.

The people living at the market are having a grand time. Madison finds the woman they’re looking for and tell her they need ten thousand gallons. They have gold coins. They almost have a deal when Madison spots Victor Strand being arrested. She gets involved in the fight and it leads to them losing their deal. Strand takes them to his safe spot and says that he’s in debt to the people who run the place. Without mentioning names he says there is a dam but doesn’t mention Daniel. Now they’re trapped there and need a way out, so they’re stuck together.

Back at the ranch, people line up for their water. Alicia sees a woman taking extra water and tells her to put it back. The woman tries to take it back and then she starts a fight. Alicia says they need to work together because there is only six weeks of water left. They have to work together, and this leads to a run on the wells. Everything erupts into chaos until one of Walker’s men fires his gun and says that they will take control to take what they need. Nick steps in their way and says that they will keep to their side and Walker’s people can stick to their own side. Nick pulls out his gun and the two men have a standoff. The well is on the ranch side and the people stand in front of it to protect it. Ofelia tells her people to stand down for now.

Walker scouts the market looking for the woman who has the water. Madison wakes up and finds Strand making coffee. He says Walker isn’t a talker and doesn’t know where he is. Strand asks if she trusts him and she says they need the same thing. He asks if she found Nick and she says they did. Alicia is up north, safe with Nick. Her children are alive, and he realizes that Travis is gone. He hugs her and says she found Nick and lost Travis. He calls God a “feckless thug.” Walker comes in with the men who attacked Strand and said they’d kill them all.

Madison goes to see what’s happening to Strand and she wants to talk to the proctor. They want Strand to be chained to the fence to clear Infected until their debt is paid. He tells her that the whole world is lost and she says she found him. He says his mother named her Victor because she knew he’d always win. He kisses her hand and tells her not to worry.

At the ranch, Coop heads out and Nick watches. He sees Alicia watching from the tower. She sees members of the Nation using divining rods to find water.

Walker repaired their water deal. He says the water is important for their people.

Nick tells the militia that circling the RVs won’t help. They have spears and they have guns. He suggests they get the guns and then there is no bloodshed.

Strand is taken out to the fences. They kill one of the Infected to remove his handcuffs. Apparently he lost out there. Strand is chained up and left with an ax to clear the area. He’s clearing the next day when the men return with Madison and shoot everyone. She says the debt is paid and he’s free. Walker doesn’t look happy when Madison returns but she says Strand has a permanent solution by taking them to the dam.
