Fear The Walking Dead delivered a lot of tension and some highly anticipated reunions this week as Walker and Madison continued to search for water.

Fear The Walking Dead delivered another great reunion this week when Madison, Strand, and Walker made it to the dam. It was really great to see Madison and Daniel reunited. Strand told Madison that Daniel was at the dam so it wasn’t unexpected, but it still was exciting to see another member of the original group come back into the fold.

I always liked Daniel and Madison’s relationship because these two characters really see each other for what they are. Strand had a kind of romanticized view of Madison. But Daniel recognizes her as a killer, just like him. And he understands her drive to do whatever it takes to protect her kids.

Even though Daniel and Ofelia weren’t reunited, yet, know he knows she’s alive and living with Madison and Walker on the ranch and it was satisfying to finally have him know that she’s alive and well. Although Daniel is pretty upset when Walker tells him what Ofelia did and that she has become a soldier for The Nation.

Strand and Daniel’s relationship isn’t any less strained than it was before. But the subtext between them is great. When Daniel approaches Strand and tells him that if he’s creating some of sort of plan that benefits them both he will support it but if the plan only benefits Strand he will take Strand out it was one of the best moments of this episode.

Walker Just Won’t Get On Board

Walker is probably one of the few people besides Daniel that isn’t charmed by Strand. And it’s clear that Walker doesn’t yet realize that when Madison and Strand are working together they will always get what they want. It seems like he gives up on things very quickly and doesn’t really have any interest in negotiating. That’s going to be a problem for him trying to survive in this world.

When he told Madison that he would kick all the ranchers off the ranch and take the remaining water and resources for his people he didn’t really think that through too well. Madison and Strand are the kinds of people who will get things done in this post-apocalypse world.

Eventually, even the resources he takes from the ranchers will run out. And since Walker seems to have trouble cooperating with people he’s going to have a hard time finding any help to get more resources. Walker needs to realize that he and The Nation need the skills that Madison and Strand have. Madison and Strand should have just driven on by and let him walk back to the ranch.

Strand Is Always The Man With The Plan

The negotiations for the water may have failed, but Strand was not going to let Madison down. He came up with the perfect plan that would help Daniel convince Lola that the dam needed more security and convince Lola to make a deal with the ranch. The ranch will trade guns and ammo for water.

Strand and Madison’s relationship is very sweet. He really does want to give her what she wants and he had a genuine affection for her. And it’s rare for Strand to have a genuine anything. But he and Madison have a very special connection.

A Daniel And Ofelia Reunion Next Week?

Hopefully, Fear The Walking Dead will continue to deliver some reunions next week. One of Lola’s conditions for the trade of water for guns at the bazaar in Mexicali was that Ofelia is at the trade. It seems like it’s been ages since Daniel and Ofelia saw each other so it’s high time those two got to see each other. At this point, Ofelia doesn’t even know that Daniel is alive. Although presumably, Madison will tell her when they get back to the ranch.

It will also be interesting to see what happens at the ranch now that Madison and Strand have solved the water crisis. With only a few episodes left in season 3 of Fear The Walking Dead the ranchers and The Nation need to come to terms before a full-blown battle between the two destroys the entire ranch.
