Don’t expect to see Heath return in The Walking Dead season 8

Fans of The Walking Dead are wondering what happened to Heath in season 7, but it appears they will have to keep waiting past Season 8 to find out.
Fans of The Walking Dead haven’t seen Heath since his disappearance in season 7 episode 6. When dropping the PPP keycard near where the RV was parked to wait for Tara, the mystery of what happened to him still looms in the zombie apocalypse.
After gaining a role on the FOX drama 24: Legacy, the actor who plays Heath seemed like a question mark to ever return to AMC’s undead drama series. However, with that show now done and Corey Hawkins available, speculation is starting to circle about if he will make a return to the show soon.
Recently, Entertainment Weekly sat down with Scott M. Gimple, the showrunner of The Walking Dead, to discuss if Heath will make a return in season 8 of the program which premieres on October 22, 2017.

"“Not a huge chance,” says Gimple on the odds of seeing Heath."
Without giving away spoilers, that’s about as close as a showrunner can get to saying ‘no’ to this question. Fans shouldn’t expect to see the character return in season 8, but a return to the series shouldn’t be ruled out.
"“But we definitely have not seen the last of Heath, period. I will say that. I don’t mean to disappoint the Heathies. He will be on the show. He will be within The Walking Dead again.”"
This is great news for the “Heathies” who have grown to enjoy the work of Corey Hawkins on The Walking Dead. Now, they are no longer left wondering if Heath will return, but when the actor will return to the show.
