In a new clip from the next Fear The Walking Dead Alicia’s in charge, and has to make a very difficult decision in order to keep the survivors alive.

Last week on Fear The Walking Dead the ranch was overrun by a herd of walkers that Troy set loose upon the ranch. Many of the ranchers died. But some were able to make it to the safety of the underground pantry. Led by Alicia, Ofelia and Crazy Dog the remaining ranchers thought they would be safe.

But there is never really a safe place in the Fear The Walking Dead world. The ventilation system inside the pantry is broken. And there won’t be enough air for the remaining survivors if they need to stay in the pantry for an extended period of time.

The ranch is still overrun and the people who are trapped in the pantry don’t know when or even if help is coming to clear the path for them to get out.

In this new sneak peek clip, a TV Guide exclusive, it appears that Alicia is now taking charge of the survivors. And unfortunately she has to make a terrible choice.

A Life Or Death Choice

In the clip Alicia tells the survivors gathered in the panty about the ventilation duct not working and explains that there won’t be enough air for all of them. She asks any of the survivors who have been bitten to come forward.

Presumably they are going to force the people who have been bitten to leave the pantry, which will give the others who haven’t been bitten more time because there will be more air available. But it seems like forcing those who have been bitten to essentially leave and die is a bit barbaric.

Alicia’s never shied away from making the tough choices. Neither has Ofelia. And in the world that the survivors are living in sometimes those tough choices are the difference between life and death. Alicia is making the right call. Essentially the people who have been bitten are already dead. There is no saving them now.

And if they die inside the pantry and turn they put all the others in the pantry at risk and will use up some of the precious air that is left. But will the people who have been bitten see that leaving the air for the others is the right choice? Or will they fight to stay?

One thing is clear. For the people on Broke Jaw Ranch the arrival of the herd is just the start of their fight to survive.
