A simple story about a man trying to navigate a terrifying and unfamiliar world to find his family has become an allegory about culture and civilization, a cautionary tale about how fast society can deteriorate, a warning about the fragility of our societal constructs and the veneer of civilization, and the reminder people everywhere need love, loyalty, and commitment to family can conquer almost anything.
The journey started here, with this image. And as the show hurtles towards its 100th episode and fans look back on the long journey that Rick has been on, this image is a reminder of far he’s come and what he and the other survivors have battled through to get to this point.
