Aaron

Aaron is one of the few original members of Alexandria that have survived the coming of Rick and the rest of the group. Aaron is a reasonable and capable character who keeps a level head in any situation. He is simultaneously the voice of reason and one of the voices of morality on a show where it can be hard to find both.

Usually being such a rational character with a strong faith in humanity signals imminent death on The Walking Dead but Aaron has managed to beat the odds and remain one of the stalwart members of the community for several seasons. He acts as the bridge between Rick and the others in his group and the original members of Alexandria. He has a keen insight into the motivations and personalities of the people who are trying to keep Alexandria going. But is that going to be enough to keep him alive as the series moves forward?

Ross Marquand would like to see Aaron become a little harder and a little darker as the series progresses. He said:

"“He’s a man that has operated for decades under the idea that you can always, always find some sort of common ground with someone, and so it’s a real point of contention for him that he can’t with these men (The Saviors). They literally cannot see reason and he cannot see any sort of goodness in them because they can’t see any goodness in themselves. So for Aaron, I would really love to see there be a switch that flips and he just goes real dark and real mental for a while. That would be great. He’s been too nice for too long. He needs to stop getting beat up and he needs to start throwing down.”"
