The Walking Dead: A look back and a look at what’s next for the survivors

Jesus
Jesus made quite an entrance on The Walking Dead. From the day that Rick and Daryl met him Jesus has had a big influence on the show. While he may not technically be in charge at The Hilltop he has always had influence there. But until Maggie and Sasha arrived at The Hilltop he kept himself apart from the group in many ways.
When Maggie and Sasha stayed at The Hilltop after bringing Glenn and Abe’s bodies there Jesus found them to be kindred spirits. He has consistently backed Maggie up in the decisions that she has made at The Hilltop and will be a great support for her moving forward when she fully takes over leadership there.
He’s also an extremely capable fighter that will be a huge asset to Rick and the others as they battle Negan and The Saviors. His fighting skills and quick thinking will be critical to Rick and the others as they attempt to take Negan down for good. But when the war is over what will the future hold for Jesus? Tom Payne commented that he would like to see Jesus become even more a fighter:
"“Well, I read the comic books, and if we do the time jump I enjoy Jesus’ whole new look — like his whole top knot and body armor, and riding a horse, holding a sword, that’s really cool. And he’s a bit bigger as well. I’d like to get back to the gym and change myself up a little bit and change the look. That would be really cool. That would be like a whole new change and would be really exciting I think. And it’s just an opportunity for those characters to have really grown as well because actually not much time passes on the show. So yeah, I think the show would benefit from a big change, and I think after the war maybe they’ll need it, you know? Oh, and also I would like to kill a bunch of people.” Next: Rosita"
