King Ezekiel

Even though King Ezekiel was only introduced in season 7 his revealing conversations with Carol and Morgan show that the King isn’t as out of touch as his royal persona might imply. He’s a strong leader and a good man.

While at first he was reluctant to join Rick’s alliance and fight Negan and The Saviors he’s now fully on board with the fight for freedom. And he and his fighters, along with Shiva, were instrumental in saving Alexandria after The Scavengers double crossed Rick in the season 7 finale.

What would Ezekiel like to have happen in the future? Khary Payton thinks Ezekiel needs a queen. He said:

"“I’d like for Ezekiel to find himself a queen. How about that? Not anyone in particular. They’re all gorgeous to me.”"

The King definitely needs a queen. Even though Carol would be a logical choice because she and Ezekiel have a strong bond and a great relationship ultimately Carol should end up with Daryl, if she ends up with anyone. Right Caryl shippers? It’s gotta be Daryl. But if Caryl never ends up becoming canon Carol would be an amazing queen at The Kingdom. She’s already the Queen of the Apocalypse to her devoted fans.
